The thirteen men put on their templar tabards. It was the famous one in white with the red cross. They stood in a circle around the one-meter-tall marble pedestal in the middle of the room. On the pedestal was placed an object, a scary-looking figurine with horns: Baphomet. “Sofya, wisdom and strength to our order,” the men said and continued whispering: “May evil swiftly summon those who so mistakenly have condemned us – God will avenge us…” Keith Langford is an English consul in Copenhagen, but behind his noble exterior hides a man with an evil plan of a new world order, which forces the Order of the Templar Knights to step out of the shadows in which they have been hiding for centuries. Nickolas Gaden lives a quiet life as a goldsmith in Copenhagen. But he carries a heavy burden; a legacy and a secret. He is the descendant of a templar knight who came to Denmark in the 12th century. This puts both Nickolas and his family in harms way, and soon his quiet and humble life will be full of chaos and death.
„The Templar from the North“ is masterfully written and has a gran historical span, taking the reader an a journey from the war between the Christians and Muslims in the 12th century to the bloody conflicts among the religions today.
Michael shows great insight into many different orders of knights, rituals, and secret societies. This knowledge he uses to its fullest in this strong novel, witch is both exciting as a suspense novel, but also an informative and engaging tale of the clash of civilizations and the rise and fall of ancient orders. It's strong stuff.“
